The iimt team warmly welcomes Associate Prof. Dr. Xuan Xie to the University of Fribourg and to the international institute of management in technology. Xuan will be a visiting researcher here for 6 months, bringing in her expertise and, in particular, her background in information theory. She completed her studies and her doctorate at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, with a focus on "information theory, data analysis, feature extract, fault diagnosis for mixed-signal circuits". In addition to her research work at the UESTC, she is the Director of English journal editorial office, Editorial Department of Journal, UESTC. For her outstanding work, she won the University Scholarship that supports her stay as a visiting researcher at iimt. There are about 2,500 universities in China. Her home university, UESTC, was included as one of the first universities into "Project 211" in 1997, a project in China for developing 100 first-class universities and a number of key fields of research for the 21st century. In 2001, UESTC was admitted into the nation's Project 985 (top 39), receiving special support for developing excellent universities and world-famous research-oriented universities. And UESTC has been supported by the national “Double Top” (A) construction project since 2017 (top 32). We wish Xuan a good start here in Switzerland and hope that we can learn a lot from each other.
