Prof. Dr. Stephanie Teufel will present at ICSGCE2014 conference (4th International Conference on Smart Grid and Clean Energy Technologies) in Sharjah, UAE, her position paper „The Crowd Energy Concept“. The conference is supported among others by China Renewable Energy Society (CRES), and China Energy Association (CEA). In this paper the effects of Fukushima and the associated new energy policy in Switzerland and Europe are presented.
The focus is on renewable energy and consequently on decentralization. Decentralized generation, storage and, needless to say, consumption are the central points. It is shown that the technically possible decentralization shifts the role of the consumer to an energy-prosumer. Thus, it is derived that not only the technical but also a socio-technological dimension has to be considered. This is the basis of the introduced Crowd Energy Concept.
