Internationality in iimt courses

Between the 18th and 21st of November the iimt course “Project Management” took place. The course participants learned why projects are essential to achieve the companies’ strategies and to lead projects to success.

But not only was the input from leading experts worthwhile, also the exchange of know-how between the course participants was remarkable as 10 different nations were represented in the classroom.

Opening Speech

Prof. Dr. Stephanie Teufel is invited to give the opening speech at the 7th International Conference on Computer and Electrical Engineering (ICCEE 2014).  Her keynote is in the field of Management of Energy Systems and will address „Decentralization and Energy-Prosumers“.The ICCEE 2014 will take place on 08th-09th October in Geneva. At the conference the latest research results in the field of Computer & Electrical Engineering will be presented.

Welcome Melanie Ackermann!

Melanie Ackermann is taking over from Manuela Buchs and is working as a course coordinator. Melanie will be assisting Petra Heumesser with the coordination and organisation of the iimt’s Executive courses. Melanie grew up in a small village near Fribourg. In her free time, she plays the traverse flute in a band in her village.

Exposition of the “Fitcoin” prototype

The first ideas@iimt prototype is presented on the 17th and 18th of September at the University of Fribourg!

The “Fitcoin” concept, designed by Mr. Philipp Zimmer, allows gym participants to produce energy while exercising (cycling). The produced energy could cover a part of the gym’s energy requirement and in return, the participants could collect “Fitcoins” for their efforts in form of bonuses.

ARES Conferece 2014 opened

Prof. Dr. Stephanie Teufel, General Chair of the ARES 2014, declared the 8th of September 2014 the conference as officially opened. More than 100 international participants are expected during the 5-days conference around the topic availability, reliability and security.

After the opening and the first best paper sessions, the conference starts with the keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Ir. Bart Preneel from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). Further sessions and key note speeches with Vokmar Lotz (SAP Research Germany) and Allison Mankin (Verisign Labs US) will follow.
