Andreas Barmettler, ideas@iimt-fellow, wins Business Ideas @ Fribourg Contest. Andreas Barmettler (in the middle) won with his idea of a stackable and intelligent worm farm the Business Ideas @ Fribourg Contest 2016 organised by the IFJ. Andreas Barmettler, Master student from the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, receives since 3 months an intensive coaching by the ideas@iimt-team.
The iimt Research Assistant, Yves Hertig, presented at the "35th International Conference on Organizational Science Development" from the 16th to the 18th of March, in Portoroz/SLO, his first article. The conference brought together international and multidisciplinary experts around the theme of sustainable forms of organisation. Yves Hertig and Prof. Dr. Stephanie Teufel describe the need for Prosumer behavior research in a decentralised energy system. Based on the new interaction possibilities of households, the authors present a prosumer behavior Framework that will allow further research on the subject.
Dr. Hans C. Werner, Head of Group Human Resources at Swisscom (Switzerland) AG, was appointed President of the iimt Institute Council. After five years mandate, Walter Steinlin, CTI President, transmits the Institute Council’s presidency to Hans C. Werner by the 1st of January.

Together with Gassmann Media AG, Jedidja Inhelder (ideas@iimt) developed on December 2015 a first prototype with the project name “MyCity” (see screenshot). Since then after first market and competition analyses, the development team defined the targeted customers. With the help of Jedidja’s app, people from Biel/Bienne will receive insights on possible parties and clubbing events, regional sport events and can also publish and share picture via the app. With the integration of Immoscout24 users can find their desired apartment in the region. The initial areas agenda, radio, and EHC-Biel will still be available for the users. The developer team will focus soon on the personalisation of these main areas to deliver a unique value proposition.
The iimt was very pleased to welcome a new lecturer in the Executive Programmes (Further Education): « Strategy & Innovation Management » course this January. Dr. Panayiotis (Panos) Constantinides is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and Director of the MSc Information Systems Management & Innovation (ISMI) at Warwick Business School. Previously, he held positions at Lancaster University's Management School (LUMS), and the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, where he also earned his PhD.
